As high profile DJ sets seem to be becoming a more common feature amid gig listings, we weren’t too surprised to see the Justice / Ed Banger ‘A Cross the Universe‘ tour making a visit to Ireland.
Initially announced as a DJ set in an NME news report (the whole hour seems to consist of DJ sets), the details for the Irish date carry no mention of DJing… so is it or isn’t it a live show?
The now sold-out Ambassador show is billed as ‘Justice’ on Ticketmaster and the MCD site:
JUSTICE
A + THE UNIVERSE TOUR
AMBASSADOR THEATRE, DUBLIN
SUN 26-OCT-2008 22:30
€28.00
But it’s definitely a part of the same tour that seems to be very clearly labelled a DJ set everywhere else:
JUSTICE (DJ SET)
SAT 25-OCT-2008
MATTER, LONDON

If it is a live show, is seems odd that the venue doors don’t open until 22:30 on a Sunday night – a bit late, no?
After querying Ticketmaster support, they verified that “Justice themselves are playing” – but something still seems a bit odd about the whole thing. Why does Dublin get a live show, but everywhere else not? Why is this show in the Ambassador for €28, when their last visit here warranted a tent in the Phoenix Park and a €35 price tag?
Either way Guess List reckons the DEAF closing party is where it’s at that bank holiday Sunday.

Ya ticketmaster / MCD can lick my……. Fairness they’re clearly clueless to what the show is but its the promoters telling sweet lies in their ears and they’re happy to believe it if it sells tickets.
Well Spongebob it may well be a live show as they say, though the nature of the tour seems to point otherwise! time will tell!
Well it was a DJ set after all. Rip-off.
And a load of fucking crap it was too.
One hour of shit before they pissed off and let whatever gobshite in the Keith Flint t-shirt come on again./
