Weekend round-up

1 Comment 26 September 2008

Kevin Shields has told The New York Times about not one but TWO new My Bloody Valentine albums.

Muxtape is to become a platform for new bands exclusively. Lenghty explaination here.

Everybody loves the Fight Like Apes Album……don’t they?

Speaking of love – Hillary Clinton’s now redundant Communications Director Howard Wolfson REALLY digs Glasvegas

Minister Eamon Ryan gets down with the boardies.

If you’re in the capital, and not heading to the Fight Like Apes launch be sure to go to our current Have You Heard feature band Adebisi Shank’s album launch tonight. Screw the recession: A tenner in at the Boom Boom Room gets you the headliners with Kidd Blunt and Realistic Train AND a copy of the LP This is the album of a band called Adebisi Shank.

Tis the season for it as Halfset have their launch tomorrow (Saturday) for sophomore effort Another Way of Being There in the Sugar Club on Saturday 27th September. Admission €12, doors at 8pm and support comes from Chequerboard.

Cork won’t be left behind this weekend however – the brilliant “Our Brother The Native” play The Whiskey tonight, while this Sunday Cypress Avenue will play host to British Sea Power. State-featured Jubilee will also play The Real Capital this Sunday, at the Savoy. All info for the Cork gigs are here.

A busy weekend ahead, enjoy!
