End of the road for Nightshift

2 Comments 08 December 2008

[from State] Sad news for Irish music today; as Channel 6 have announced that their late night music show ‘Night Shift’ is to come to an end on December 31st. Presented by Michelle Doherty, the show plays a fine selection of music videos and always pays special attention to new Irish artists.

The show’s producer Elton Mullally had this to say:

It is with great regret and a pain in my heart that I break the news today that as and from the 31st December 2008, Nightshift is to be taken off air.

Channel 6 was bought over by TV3 a few months ago and the new owners have made the decision to remove Nightshift from next year’s schedule.

This means of course that from today I will no longer be taking music videos, interviews, competitions, etc.

The very last show will air from 10pm – 1am on New Years Eve.

And so, what, they’re keeping Xpose?

Unsurpisingly, TV3 is continuing to show that Xpose tripe.
