This past week I’ve been getting to grips with Spotify; a new piece of software that looks set to compete with the likes of iTunes, Last.fm and Imeem.
It’s an impressive little application that allows you fast, free music streaming and the ability to create playlists (most of its rivals require supscription or make this rather awkward).
It’s very user friendly, so far I’m impressed – though there is a catch:
Spotify isn’t offically available in Ireland yet – though it’s hoped to be launched here later in 2009. For those of you who wish to ignore/bypass this limitation, the service can be accessed by using a UK proxy.

My Spotify account is in the UK but I’ve been in Ireland for a month working, just had a message that you can only ‘travel’ with Spotify for 14days…. Damn!
Pinkchick, I had a similar issue. I’ve heard that if you change your account profile to say Ireland, Spotify will carry on working fine – once you have the program installed it doesn’t seem to mind what country you’re in. Or so I heard anyways…
