While most people were struggling to transcend the electronic aesthetic that had become associated with the city, Matt married sampling and electronics with acoustic instruments, song and voice for the critically acclaimed album The Mess We Made (Domino Records, 2003).
Now, having left Bristol altogether and settled in rural France, Matt continues to release albums that have variously been described as folk, vaudeville and chanson francaise.
His fiercely independent approach has won him many admirers, and Elliott has completed remixes for Mogwai, Thurston Moore, Blonde Redhead, Tarwater, The Pastels and Yann Tiersen amongst others. Matt also continues to collaborate with long-term friends Hood, and lends his playing to many more records as guitarist, drummer, clarinetist, violist player and programmer.
Tickets are currently onsale, priced €12.
