James Blackshaw’s forthcoming album The Glass Bead Game (named after Hesse’s existentialist novel from 1943), sees the 12-string composer continue to expand his trademark breathtakingly complex music with more piano and orchestration than ever before.
Album opener Cross demonstrates the swirling guitar melodies of his previous work with the new addition of female vocals, and as ever the results are gorgeous.
