Jape has walked away with the Choice Music Prize and a cheque for ten grand. Richie Egan won for ‘Ritual’, having played the Vicar St award show with Fight Like Apes, Mick Flannery, Halfset, Jape, MJEX and RSAG.

We’re pretty happy with the Choice, and the usual blogosphere anger directed at the Award will be less so this year I reckon!

TV on the Radio and more for Oxegen

From Oxegen.ie – more great bands announced for the July festival, including:

Lady GaGa, Manic Street Preachers, TV On The Radio, Florence And The Machine, The Game, Ladyhawke, James, Foals, Of Montreal, Friendly Fires and Squeeze.

The festival lineup is pretty much amazing this year, despite fairly safe headliners there’s lots of great acts onboard. Tickets are back onsale this Friday March 6th. Continue Reading
