The follow up to the suberb ‘Sound of Silver’ will be launched this May ahead of James Murphy and Co’s visit to Electric Picnic.
This year’s EP lineup has been announced, with headliners Roxy Music, Leftfield, Massive Attack and LCD Soundsystem. The list in full:
Roxy Music, Leftfield, Massive Attack, LCD Soundsystem, The Frames, Public Image Ltd, The National, Imedla May, Mumford & Sons, Seasick Steve, Modest Mouse, Hot Chip, Gil Scott-Heron, Fever Ray, Jonsi (Sigur Ros); Fat Freddy’s Drop, Bad Lieutenant, Crystal Castles, Afro Celt Soundsystem, Booka Shade, Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77, Steve Earle, The Waterboys, Beach House, The Big Pink, 808 State, The Low Anthem, Redneck Manifesto, The Horrors, Monotonix, Liquid Liquid, Here We Go Magic, Field Music, Steve Mason, Cymanide, The Alarm, Messiah J & The Eexpert, Dublin Gospel Choir, Caribou, Adrian Crowley, Villagers; New Pornographers, Edan, Breakestra & Chali 2 Na, Mr Scruff, Memory Tapes, and more to be announced…
It makes for an impressive, if unsurprising bunch of acts – lots of EP regulars returning for the annual Stradbally event; though we’re more than happy to see Fever Ray and LCD Soundsystem in there!
As per the People’s Republic of Cork forum, the following acts have been announced for Indiependence, which will once again hit Mitchelstown, Co. Cork on the August Bank Holiday weekend:
Jape, Reverend & The Makers, The Coronas, The Chapters, Delorentos, The Riptide Movement, Adebisi Shank, Codes, FRED, Fish Go Deep, Disconauts, Ghostcat, The Funeral Suits, Yes Cadets, O Emperor, Hoarsebox, The Vital Spark.
Organisers are still in “advanced negotiations with two international acts” for headliners.
The mud and accommodation issues experienced by last year’s otherwise excellent weekend will hopefully be sorted as the festival moves to a new 5,000 capacity site. The Main stage is a 3,500 enclosed permanent structure, while stages 2 and 3 are 800 capacity tents, and a smaller ‘village’ tent set up, with a 2 minute walk to the dedicated on site camping area.
