An old favourite on the Cork club scene makes its welcome return on Saturday September 6 as Goldsoundz takes over the Liquid Lounge on Marlboro Street.

The night is from the ever popular Freakscene stable of club nights and makes its comeback having wrapped up its previous run in the Savoy last year. The venue is one of Cork’s nicest clubs, and has a great track record in facilitating alternative nights, having already hosted several Ping Pong events (Guesslist quite enjoyed The Redneck’s set for the last Jazz Weekend.)
An ecclectic mix of music between two DJs and a host of cocktails is promised, as always, and for the launch night a chef providing “themed catering” will be on hand.
Definitely worth a look, and hopefully a regular fixture for Saturday nights.

October looks like a real treat for Irish fans of fuzz/scuzz/lo-fi/punk/’shitgaze’ (call it what you will), with the return of American noiseniks No Age and Times New Viking, as well as Cardiff-based lovelies Los Campesinos!
The Drowned in Sound-backed ‘Shred Yr Face’ tour comes to Whelan’s on October 17th, priced at a modest €15.45. That’s a mighty fine triple billing in our eyes, all 3 acts being worthy of attendance and unhealthy levels of adoration.
Tickets go onsale Monday the 18th.
